1The nature of the service — an aggregator, and nothing more

CrimeLens is, purely and simply, an aggregator of publicly available information. The App gathers, organises and geographically arranges reports, articles, encyclopaedic references, archival material and public records that are already freely and lawfully available to the public across the internet and the media. Its sole function is to act as a lens through which such pre-existing, third-party material may be located and consulted.

Accordingly, and without exception:

• We do not create, author or originate any of the underlying cases, facts, reports or accounts.
• We compose no narratives of our own and add no independent investigation, allegation or finding.
• We hold and express no opinion on the content, merits, guilt, innocence, character or circumstances of any case, person or event referenced.
• Every case surfaced by the App is cited within the App and made accessible by means of the original source links (URLs), so that you may consult the primary material directly and form your own judgement.

The App is therefore a neutral index and pointer to third-party material. Any text shown alongside a case is a summary or reference to that third-party material and must be understood as such.

2Sources, third-party content and accuracy

All substantive content accessible through the App originates from independent third parties — including but not limited to newspapers, news agencies, broadcasters, encyclopaedias, archives and official or governmental records. Such content is the sole responsibility of its respective authors and publishers.

We exercise no editorial control over third-party sources, do not guarantee their availability, and make no representation or warranty of any kind as to the accuracy, completeness, currency, reliability, legality or truthfulness of any information surfaced through the App. Dates, names, classifications, locations and outcomes may be approximate, incomplete, contested or subsequently corrected. You must independently verify any information against the original sources linked within the App before relying upon it for any purpose.

Geographic placement of cases is approximate and indicative only, intended to associate a case with a locality rather than to assert a precise address or location.

3Express release and waiver of claims

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and as an essential condition of your use of the App, you expressly and irrevocably release, discharge and hold harmless the Developer, together with its owners, officers, employees, contractors and affiliates, from any and all claims, demands, actions, liabilities, losses, costs or damages of any kind whatsoever — whether direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive or otherwise — arising out of or in any way connected with:

• the inaccuracy, incompleteness, falsity or lack of veracity of any information, case, report or source displayed by or accessible through the App;
• any interpretation, reputational effect, distress or consequence arising from information originated by third parties;
• the availability, content, conduct or policies of any third-party website or source linked from the App;
• any other claim for damages or for sums of any amount, howsoever arising, in connection with your access to or use of the App.

You acknowledge that the App is provided as a convenience for locating publicly available material, and that any reliance you place upon such material is strictly at your own risk.

4Right of correction and takedown

If you consider that any reference surfaced by the App is inaccurate, outdated or should not be displayed, you may contact us at legal@testiumlabs.com. While we assume no obligation regarding third-party content, we will consider reasonable requests and may, at our sole discretion, remove or adjust the corresponding reference within the App.

5Acceptable use

You agree to use the App only for lawful, personal and non-commercial purposes. You must not misuse the App, attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer it, use it to harass, defame or harm any person, or use any information obtained through it in a manner that is unlawful or that infringes the rights of others.

6Subscriptions and payment

The App offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions (for example, weekly, monthly and yearly plans). Prices are displayed in the App and on the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple Account upon confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).

7Intellectual property

The App's name, design, interface, arrangement and software are owned by the Developer and protected by applicable law. Third-party content and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners; their appearance within the App is for reference and identification only and does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.

8Disclaimer of warranties & limitation of liability

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Developer excludes all implied warranties and shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the App or any linked source.

9Independence

CrimeLens is an independent application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any newspaper, news agency, broadcaster, archive, encyclopaedia, government body or any of the sources it references.

10Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published within the App or on this page at the time of your use governs that use. Continued use of the App after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the use of the App shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Spanish law. Any dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts and Tribunals of the city of Barcelona (Spain), and you expressly waive any other forum that may correspond to you, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
